    1. This would include me! Had a root canal years ago today I have a gum decease (they said) and breast cancer ummm i don’t even go to a dentist now! Or doctors !!!

    2. $#%&!@*! I have had 2 root canals.

    3. Holy crap. So we can’t even go to a dentist.

    4. How many women out there without breast cancer have had a root canal done? Most people I know have had at least one done….

    5. Have breast cancer, never have had a root canal. But did have wisdom teeth removed. You just never know.

    6. Holy $#%&!@*! I just had my Root canal done in months now andy Dad just had him 2weeks ago and got infected

    7. This is ridiculous!! If this was true, waaay many more people would have cancer. The amount of people with root canals exceed the number of people with cancer, and not all those with cancer have root canals. There isn’t enough evidence to make claims like this. These “extreme natural” crap is just that and it’s going around to sway people to switch their practices for whatever reasons.

    8. Not true! Know someone never had root canal, but die of can cer?

    9. Well this certainly makes my day!!!

    10. I know and every DDS I have seen knows I will never have a root canna, l I guess I was right……..

    11. I bet 99.99% of these people also were exposed to massive amounts of hydrogen hydroxide.
      Smh. This is ridiculous.

    12. To all of you who think this is ridiculous, It depends on the bacteria build up that forms in the root area. Some people’s will be worse than others. The problems with root canals goes further than cancer. Autoimmune diseases being one.

    13. The reason people get breast cancer is not because of teeth or root canals. However I’m sure this is to throw people off the right track. Take some selenium from a whole food or organic store and stay away from deodorants with aluminum in it!!!!

    14. That’s good news! NOT!

    15. I have had 2 done , 1 of witch was a bad job and now I have a bridge work .

    16. I had a root canal twice on the same tooth because the dentist left cement in the tooth. Drove me crazy. He asked how I knew it was there. I felt it. I’m wondering how much this is done and people don’t feel it. Could have caused infection. I do have a spot they are watching. Time will tell.

    17. ummmm. i had two root canals. what do you do once you’ve already had them?! don’t know how i feel about this article and need to do more research

    18. It is a bit far fetched I have a autoimmune disease and have never had a root canal I was diagnosed at 13 with Crohn’s disease. The only other option to a root canal is a extraction and that would expose you to lost of bacteria. I doubt a root canal causes these problems a root canal is need when a tooth is infected or necrotic that’s far more worse for you than having your nerve removed and having it thoroughly cleaned shaped and disinfected before being sealed with a liquid sealer to deal excessory canals with Gutta purchase placed in the main canals

    19. Sorry if it seemed I implied the only thing that caused autoimmune disease is root canals. Not at all what I meant. A sick gut can cause that. From my many hours of study on autoimmune disease, I am concluding, and the jury is out for the professionals, that there are many cofactors that contribute to it..starting with genetics, diet, electro magnetic fields or other invironmental factors. Having been an ICU nurse who has cared for many heart bypass patients post op and read their labs (normal cholesterol levels) and histories, and extubated them having seen their teeth, bad teeth contributes to heart disease…evidenced based. Ask any cardiologist if bad teeth contributes to heart attacks and he will tell you…sure does!

    20. This is ridiculous I think we should all live in a bubble because if you believe all the stuff you read on the Internet everything cause cancer. The only alternative to a root canal is a extraction and these treatments are needed most often due to infection caused by a cavity that has reached the nerve or is to close so the nerves starts to die or is completely necrotic so I’m sure all the bacteria running through your body is worse. If a root canal is done properly they are generally very successful In the dental office I work in Id say a huge majority of adult patients have had a root canal in there lifetime and a minuscule has had breast cancer. Don’t blow be everything you read but by all means of you don’t care for your teeth and need multiple root canals just have them extracted and see how much you like dentures oh no I wonder if the acrylic in the dentures causes cancer too

    21. And, that’s not to say that bad teeth are the only thing that contributes to heart disease…there are many factors, so case in point.

    22. I had two root canals in the upper left side of my mouth. I constantly had thrush and a black mold on teh left side of my tongue, about 1/4 inch wide and 1 1/2 inch long…this in spite of medications. I had those root canals removed in April of this year, and within a few weeks the black mold and thrush were gone and have not returned.

    23. My mom had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer in July of 2013, she had her first root canal in March 2014. She is 64 years old. Guess she beat the odds.

    24. This is not true. Where is the scientific evidence that conclusively shows that having root canal will give you breast cancer? So please don’t make silly comments without the proper knowledge. And take good care of your oral health in first place, to avoid getting the root canal. If you have a dental infection because of your bad oral habits what do you prefer then? walk around toothless?

    27. I bet 98% of all women with cancer have chewed gum!

    28. It isn’t saying that everyone who has cancer has had a root canal. There are other causes. Like your genes…food you eat etc..however your roots go extremely deep from you teeth.and there is lots of bacteria in the mouth. So I can see this being a possible problem!

    29. fabulous!!! just had a root canal yesterday and it was infected!!! awesome!!

    30. I just read this last week about bowel cancer….so I think someone is grasping at straws for something to blame…..

    31. I will never have another root canal done. I got the one I had pulled out because it got infected after 21 years. No thanks.
